What is IB?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is an internationally recognized program
that offers a framework of the best instructional practices. Students are immersed in inquiry
based instruction, where they are supported in becoming global-minded citizens. Students
combine relevant knowledge, experience, and critical thinking skills to solve problems.IB Mission Statement
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring
young people who help to create a better, more peaceful world through intercultural
understanding and respect.
To this end, the organization works with schools, governments and international
Organizations to develop challenging international education programs and rigorous
assessment.
These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate,
lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.The IB MYP Program
An academically challenging and balanced program for students ages 11 - 16 that prepares
them for success in high school, college, and beyond.
Aims to teach students to become independent learners who can recognize the connections
between what they learn in school and the world around them.
Provides opportunities for students to solve problems through inquiry, exploration and
investigation.
Teaches students to think critically, conceptually, and globally.A Balanced Curriculum
IB MYP Program requires a minium of 50 hours of study across each of the following content areas:
Language and Literature (English/Reading)
Language Acquisition (Foreign Language)
Individuals and Societies (Humanities)
Physical Education
Mathematics
Science
Design
