Welcome back to a wonderful year of learning and growing in our school community! My name is Jasmine Shepherd. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the scholars, families, and staff of Rhodes Academy. There are many exciting things happening at Rhodes Academy that will certainly have a positive impact on student growth and achievement. I have enjoyed the privilege of being able to serve students and families across New York City public schools over the past thirteen years and I am excited to join and serve the Hempstead community! This is my 5th year as an Assistant Principal. Prior to joining the Hempstead school community, I have worked as a classroom teacher, a Dean, and as an instructional coach.
As Assistant Principal, I have the wonderful opportunity of assisting our school Principal and teachers with the day-to-day projects that help to provide our scholars with a safe and fun learning environment so that teaching and learning can take place. As partners in your child’s education, I will be available to support you and your child throughout the school year to ensure that he/she has a successful year at Rhodes Academy.
